A Charming & Intimate New England B&B Wedding

There are so many things to love about New England. There’s so much to love about New England. This Florida couple chose Maine for their wedding and new home.

Jaime and Tom held their intimate weddings on the porch of the charming Camden Harbour Inn. The Inn is located in Maine and boasts classy vibes and a covered patio that the couple wanted for their misty, dreamy wedding.

Jaime has also made some stunning wardrobe choices. While shopping at Saks Fifth Avenue, Jaime discovered a stylish Misha collection knee-length wedding dress with an off-the-shoulder design. It gives the New England party vibes that one would hope for.

When planning an intimate wedding, you want to make sure that the people around you are essential to you. (I can relate!) Jaime and Tom are lucky to have a talented niece, Juliana Montane, a photographer. She took these stunning photos on their wedding day.

Our Love Story

Tom hired me in 2003 as his divorce lawyer. During his divorce proceedings, I had been divorced for 20 years. Tom and I became good friends because of our professional relationship. We would sometimes go to social events together as friends. Tom and I both had other relationships following our divorce.

He suggested one day that we go on a “date.” If either of us thought that the date was a mistake afterward, we could both claim amnesia. This date happened in 2006. We have only been together since then.

The Dress

I wanted my dress to be elegant, modern, and straightforward. I chose a short, simple style with an off-the-shoulder design that I found in Saks.

The Destination & Location

The location was important because it was a destination wedding. Camden has been a place we both love for many years. We just bought a home there! The food and wine at Camden Harbour Inn are excellent, as is the Inn.

Our guests included about 20 family members and friends from Florida. They all left in time to avoid Hurricane Irma. The wedding party had my husband’s children and our two best friends. My niece was the photographer. We wanted the wedding to be relaxed, intimate, and unique. And we got it.

Favorite moments

The ceremony was grand. Our ceremony was performed by a former boat captain from the locality. He spent several hours with us at his house a few weeks before our wedding. He made it personal, poignant, and moving. Both of us felt that our vows were personal. The temperature was perfect, and it was a lovely setting on the veranda at the Camden Harbour Inn. The rain started about 20 minutes later, even though we were covered. But everyone said that was good luck.

The dinner & reception at the Inn was perfect. The food and wine selection was excellent, and family and friends made lovely comments and tributes.

The Flowers

The flowers were elegant, with primarily white and nude colors. They also had greenery. Our florist added some calla lilies and silver brunia to the roses.

Splurges

We chose the Camden Harbour Inn, a Relais and Chateaux hotel. We spent a lot on the food and the wine selection. Although we did not spend much on clothing, we were pleased with the choices.
