Classy & Colorful Brooklyn Bridge Wedding

Last July, beside the steely grey waters of New York Harbor, Manhattan’s massive skyscrapers were the cheery, colorful explosion of Aly & Dan’s Brooklyn Bridge wedding.

Everyone has their version of New York – the glitzy, filthy, fashionable, and artsy (my version is ‘the delicious one’), and this Brooklyn wedding evokes ‘the eclectic one.’ It’s fitting that below the bridges, near loads of fabulous & bright graffiti, Aly & Dan decided to fill their city fete with the most vibrant & colorful array of florals.

Bright pink & orange peonies & ranunculus that filled the space also adorned one of the best cakes we’ve seen. Dramatic as the skyline outside of 1 Hotel, this tall white Nine Cakes confection has our mouths watering & heart eyes beaming.

Our Love Story

Dan and I met online. We walked through the Central Park ramble when we were first dating, and Dan marked a pin in his phone at our favorite part of the park.

Dan and I went out to lunch on the day of the proposal, and then he said we would walk through Central Park. He had found the pin on his phone and took us to the exact spot we had been on an early date to propose. It’s my favorite place in the city, and it was perfect!

The Wedding Style

I loved every second of our wedding! We had a fantastic band and great food. Everyone danced all night and had fun, which was what we wanted. We had a July wedding and wanted bright and fun-colored flowers. We had amazing vendors and a wedding planner, and Dan and I didn’t have to worry about one thing that day!

The Photography

We met with our photographers once and instantly knew we would hire them. Anna and Mikhail are the kind of people you immediately like upon meeting. They are so happy and love what they do, which rubs off on everyone they meet.

They were genuinely interested in getting to know us as a couple and had already mapped out our venue before we even met. Anna and Mikhail captured every special moment of our wedding from beginning to end and did so in an unobtrusive way. The photographs are stunning. We couldn’t have asked for better photographers. We even had guests tell us how fantastic our photographers were at the wedding, which is not a typical thing people notice!

Favorite Moments

I loved walking down the aisle. Seeing everyone we love in one room and watching one of the most memorable moments of our lives is something I will never forget.

Advice to Other Couples

Think about the two or three things most important to you as a couple to spend the most on. There are a million little details to the day, and try not to overthink all the decisions you will need to make. The day will go by in a flash, and enjoy every second.

The Honeymoon

We went all over Japan for two weeks for our honeymoon. We knew it was a “splurge” type trip, so we thought a honeymoon was the perfect excuse. We went all out and had the best time. It’s far, so going for two weeks was well worth it!
