How Would We Plan Our Dream Wedding
What would your dream wedding weekend be like?
We’d stay in the Governor’s suite and get a beachy glow in the Iridium Spa. Please, a facial & massage for the skin (for that low-back wedding gown we chose)!
We’d love to say “I Do” in the late afternoon under the wedding pavilion’s palm trees and banana trees. Placing coconuts on guests’ seats to stay hydrated during the ceremony is fantastic.
We’d lead our closest and dearest towards the ocean waves and be welcomed by Mai Tai cocktails. Then, we would share the first dance beneath the palms, waving in the sunset. Imagine the staff serving tropical delights such as tuna crudo, coconut crab cakes, and fresh fish over a fire. We can continue the theme with a mile-high coconut cake.
We’d toast with champagne (and yes, we would saber it!) We’d start the night with a mix of hip-hop hits and Caribbean music. We would keep the party going by having a Caribbean Beignet Station (hallelujah, that’s now a thing!) and ‘Media Noche’ sandwiches.
What to do in Puerto Rico
You’ll find plenty to do before and after you say “I do”! Stunning beaches surround the island and offer a variety of inland excursions and delicious cuisine. Here are a few of the things we love:
El Yunque National Forest- Riding horseback through tropical forests with your crew, you can reach idyllic swimming pools below some of Puerto Rico’s most majestic falls. The Alma de Bahia Foundation (Soul of Bahia), a Bahia Beach Foundation, will lead you on an exclusive El Yunque tour with help from the St. Regis concierge. Keep an eye out for ancient petroglyphs made by the Taino indigenous people.
Old San Juan- Get a taste of old-world Europe by strolling through the streets of Old San Juan. The city’s cathedrals and other grand buildings would make for some stunning photoshoots.
Vieques If ocean exploration (and there is plenty to explore!) is your thing, then this is the place for you. Take a boat to Vieques, where you can visit the Bioluminescent Bay and beautiful beaches. You can also snorkel with some of the Caribbean’s unique sea life.
