The couple showed flexibility when the bride’smaid of honor was pregnant, and her due date matched Ashleigh & Earl’s original wedding date. They moved the wedding date forward five months, leaving only four weeks to plan.
The couple didn’t let the fact that they had to change their wedding date stop them from doing things “their way.” Early & Ashleigh chose a variety of modern, fun & unconventional choices to represent them as a pair and the type of party they dreamed about. The wedding was special and unique with a morning ceremony, geometric dress & decor, toasting to the marriage at breakfast, a crepe cake & fun desserts.
Our Love Story
Earl and I met at work, and the rest of our story is a fairytale. He proposed to me on my 29th Birthday, the 27th of February 2019. He knows that I love my Birthday. It’s always been my favorite day. We followed the usual birthday tradition of running on the Durban promenade in the early morning and meeting with friends at the local coffee shop to enjoy the sunrise and take selfies.
This day was different… the birthday selfie had to be taken on the beach. “Because today was so great”. I was confused but eager to get a good photo, so I agreed. The next thing I knew, Earl was kneeling on the beach, asking me to get married. The best day ever and the biggest surprise. I said yes immediately and was the happiest woman that day. But to turn around to see both sets’ parents walk down to the beach and congratulate us was the cherry on top.
It doesn’t get much better than this. Earl got major brownies that day from both my parents and Earl for including them in this particular moment. It was an extraordinary day, full of surprises and lasting memories. I could not have imagined a more perfect proposal. He did good!
The Dress
The fabulous Julia Ferrandi made my dream dress; wow, she got what I was thinking – a geometric statement. She got it so right! I felt sensational all day long.
The Planning
Earl and I were looking for a unique wedding to express our identity. Waking up early to run and watch sunrises was a big part of our personalities.
What better way to be married at sunrise than with breakfast in the morning? We wanted a relaxed and happy day to spend time with our family and friends.
Favorite moments
It was the perfect day, and we couldn’t ask for more. It was everything we wanted and more. We were relaxed and happy, and nothing could bring us down. The girls began doing their hair and makeup at 2:30 am. I walked to the altar just after 6 am. We enjoyed the day and all its glory. It was magical.
Change the date
We also moved our wedding date closer by five months because my maid-of-honor was pregnant on our original wedding date and due then. Having my best friend with me on this particular day was impossible, so we had to move our wedding up to four weeks. Our vendors have been fantastic in helping us in any way they could. We can’t thank all of them enough.
